To find the documentation about /proc look in the Documentation
directory under your kernel source root directory under filesystems.
It is contained in a file name proc.txt. The path would be:
Documentation/filesystems/proc.txt
Could you give me a full pathname assuming the default installation
directory of c:\cygwin?
I searched my c:\cygwin\usr\ (aka "/usr") directory and could find no file
called "proc.txt" or directory called "filesystems".
He's talking about Linux kernel source. It would be under
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/filesystems. If you don't have Linux kernel
source available, just Google for proc.txt.
