  Your mailer creates many headers other than the "From" and "To" ones which
are under your control.

  In particular, if you reply to an email, it creates an "In-Reply-To" header,
so that when anyone gets your reply, their mailer will attach it to the
existing thread/conversation.

  If you reply to a post, your mailer sends it as a reply to that post, and
you can't trick it just by changing the subject line.  So if you reply to a
post and write an irrelevant message about another topic, it still ends up as
part of the thread of the post that you replied to.
