The problem is that you mapped cygdrive to "/".  This resulted in a
misguided strcpy.  I've fixed that, thanks for the cygcheck output
and strace(*).

However, you're aware of the problems with mapping cygdrive to "/", are
you?  You'll never see the list of available drives since the special
cygdrive handling can't kick in for the root dir.  This also results in
a wrong link count for the root dir.  There's no easy way to fix that
and it's definitely not of any priority to us to change this.

(*) It would be nice if you could try to shorten an strace in a meaningful
    way next time.  Hundreds of lines with
    "--- Process 2480, exception C0000005 at 00000000
    don't really add any useful information and just fill up people's
    mailboxes.  Thanks.
