[ANNOUNCEMENT] New package: gnome-libs-1.4.2-3 (and 9 subpackages)

Hash: SHA1

The following packages have recently been added to the Cygwin net release:

+++ gnome-libs-1.4.2-3
+++ gnome-libs-devel-1.4.2-3
+++ gnome-libs-doc-1.4.2-3
+++ libart_lgpl-1.4.2-3
+++ libgnome-1.4.2-3
+++ libgnomesupport-1.4.2-3
+++ libgnomeui-1.4.2-3
+++ libgnorba-1.4.2-3
+++ libgtkxmhtml-1.4.2-3
+++ libzvt-1.4.2-3

gnome-libs contains the core libraries necessary for building GNOME 1.4
applications. These libraries have been built with a modern libtool,
based on the Cygwin glib and gtk+ packages.

*** IMPORTANT for those using GNOME 2.x:

The package previously named libart_lgpl (2.3.17) has been renamed
libart_lgpl2, in order to make space for this branch of libart_lgpl
1.4.2 (aka 2.2.0). Both versions can be installed in parallel, but
because of the rename, the following is required:

1) If you first update after reading this, then libart_lgpl2 will be
pulled in automatically as a GNOME dependency, and libart_lgpl will be
"downgraded" to 1.4.2-3. THIS IS THE CORRECT BEHAVIOR. If you don't
want anything from GNOME 1.4, you may choose to uninstall libart_lgpl
(which has no dependencies other than cygwin).

2) If you have already updated and allowed setup.exe to "downgrade"
libart_lgpl, but you don't want GNOME 1.4, then run setup.exe again and
uninstall libart_lgpl.

3) If you have already updated, but did NOT allow setup.exe to
"downgrade" libart_lgpl, then you have a libart_lgpl-2.3.17 and
libart_lgpl2-2.3.17. THIS IS A PROBLEM! To fix this, run setup.exe
again, and either allow libart_lgpl to be "downgraded" -- or you can
uninstall if you don't want GNOME 1.4 -- *and* reinstall libart_lgpl2.
