If everything's working correctly with your windoze plug'n'play, a pcmcia
modem should show up as just another com port, so under cygwin you should be
able to refer to it as either /dev/comN or /dev/ttySN (replacing N with the
com port number). You just need a standard serial terminal emulator
program, point it at the correct device, and you should be able to enter AT
commands and see the responses.
