No joy. I get a popup when I start bash "The instruction at "0x....."
referenced memory at "0x...." The memory could not be written.

Further, stderr says (twice) "conflicting versions of cygwin1.dll
detected. Use only the most recent version"
And then says
    0 [main] bash 218 sync_with_child: child 22(0x170) died before
initialization with status code 0xC0000005
19899 [main] bash 218 sync_with_child: *** child state waiting for
longjmp
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable.

I only have one copy of cygwin1.dll (all other "copies" are renamed to
"cygwin1.dll-1.1.7" etc. I did reboot before trying this. However, I
only copied in my new cygwin1.dll; I did not install the whole cygwin
build.
