Not sure what the root cause of the errors, but I had the same issue and
found a resolution. If you invoke XWin with -kb it will disable the X
keyboard driver. Prior to this fix I was unable to type in an xterm window.
I'm not sure what caused this issue with my new install, since I had
cygwin previously installed on my laptop and had it functioning correctly.
