There is no dilemma. If you have a xming specific patch, then send
email to the xming mailing list. Things have been working like this for
some time.
We are currently in need of a maintainer but that doesn't mean that
we suddenly need to change the rules.

This reflects the preferences of the previous maintainer. I'm not going to
debate policy if we don't have a maintainer.

We will be sticking with the consistent policy that has been used for
all of the cygwin mailing lists. We discuss cygwin-specific issues in
the cygwin mailing lists. We don't discuss non-cygwin issues in the
cygwin mailing lists.
