Problems with KDE and ICEwm

If this is not appropriate for this mailing list could some one please 
contact me on the side to give me some help.

Env:
cygwin 1.3.2-1
Win2k pro sp2
kde 1.0.8
ice Do not even remember what ever the newest version is.

When I try to run kde after starting xwindows I get errors that KFM is not 
running and that kfm cannot create, remove and copy form some 
directories.  KDE then comes up but nothing works.

So I tried ICE.  When I run when I run ice I get the following in the 
icewm.exe.stackdump file:
