Besides, "FU" has other meanings, as an acronym... ];->

I judge by what I experience myself.  Quite often, one gets to a thread
that's broken and doesn't quote anything at all, so there's no way of
recovering the context short of browsing the mailing list archives by
subject (time consuming at best).

Irrelevant -- the fact that other mailing lists have broken threading
doesn't reduce the annoyance at finding it on the Cygwin mailing list.

Agreed, I do sometimes leave the fully-quoted message below (especially if
I'm in a hurry) -- I'll try to change that.

Oh.  Well, once it's used a few times on the mailing list, I usually put
it in the OLOCA -- there's no need to explicitly request it.  So all you
have to do is use it. ;-)
