There's a wonderful idea. I'll be posting my setup.hints as soon as
I'm happy with the build/install process.
BTW, ifhp wants to install in libexecdir, which the contributor
documentation says I should define as $(sbindir). Since sbindir is
never set/referenced in ifhp, this ends up as / (bad). I've fixed it
by setting libexecdir to /usr/libexec/ifhp (squid does something
similar). Now, this is clearly contrary to the hint that it should go
in /usr/sbin. OTOH, ifhp isn't something that should ever be run
except as a filter for an lpd. Does anyone care if I install it under
libexec?
