I see from your later message you tried starting the portmapper
service. Did you add the "-F" option to keep it from forking?

I really need to do this. With the holidays coming up, I should
have time to do so. Unfortunately, I only have NT-based systems
(NT4, W2K, XP) available for testing; any suggestions on how to
document things for a WIN9X system (or any other system) would be
