Yann, Francesco & All, Couldn't agree more... I would also like to know the benefit between a static build compiler vs a shared and why a gcc pass 1 is required to build in static or people even want static in the final build? In Francesco's examples, seems all builds are non-static and I having a feeling that it might not work for build a real cross compiler.
