On a serious note: the Big Hunt for versions is really counter productive for serious embedded development. Without a doubt each new version brings exciting new stuff, but typically also a lot of bugs. I see no reason not to use gcc 3.2 (with pr8896 fixed) and continue to do real work. This compiler works well on all our architectures (X86, ARM, PPC 60x, 4xx, 8xx, MIPS, SH3).
