Have you also tried the sources from the mainline of the binutils
CVS repository ?
No, I just tried but got:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../bfd/bfd.h', needed by
`size.o'.

Hmm, how did you configure and build the sources ?
Last weekend, I built DarwinPorts(MacPorts) version of binutils
with no trouble.
My host is PPC G4/Tiger (gcc version 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc.
build 5363))
I tried objcopy and I got S-record files from Mach-O.
