- Subject: Question about inet_ntoa in ia64 Linux system
Hi,
I'm working on a ia64 linux,(kernel 2.4.18,gcc3-3.0.4-1)system.
A multithread process run the following code.
char szIP[512];
struct in_addr *ptr;
...
ptr = (struct in_addr*)*(phostent->h_addr_list); //phostent is not null
strcpy( szIP, inet_ntoa( *ptr ) );
now we found out that the process may core dump in
"strcpy( szIP, inet_ntoa( *ptr ) );"
the question is : on ia64 system , Will inet_ntoa function return a NULL
result ? may it be a multi-thread problem?
Thank you for any help.
Regards
