Linux wins!
The problem is:
1. Motorola didn't follow their own standard on the loader. (Might have
tested on windows, which explains why, see 2 below)
2. Window's Hyperterm (and the terminal program that comes with board)
strips out a CR !!! thus CR/LF in your file comes out LF.
Thanks for the help. I know several others have seen this problem. Now we
know why, and thanks for the fix to change binutils if motorola doesn't fix
the loader.
