wince-mips issues

I've been using the normal mips gcc and the
new binutils/gas for doing mips wince?

is this what everybody else is doing or can you
you actually build a gcc-wince?

one incompatibility i've found is in wide character
string literals, i.e L"hello"

the gcc for cygwin NT does the same thing as the microsoft
compiler but gcc for mips is creating a different format
literal.

does anyone know the proper method for dealing with this?

reconfigure the compiler? compile time option?
