To request a new account on sourceware.org (aka sourceware.org, aka cygwin.com, aka gcc.gnu.org), we need the following infomation:
  1. First and last name
  2. Preferred login name
  3. A forwarding e-mail address (where mail should go if it is sent to you @sourceware.org or @gcc.gnu.org)
  4. What project this is for ("gdb", "automake", "gnats", etc.)
  5. The email address of a sanctioned approver for this request.
  6. An SSH public key, generated with "ssh-keygen -t <ecdsa | ed25519 | rsa>"

Note that if you already have an account on sourceware.org or gcc.gnu.org for source control write access for some other project, then do not use this form. Instead send an email to the admin-requests mail account at this site telling what project you want write access to and who approved that access.

If you don't have SSH set up and installed already, we recommend using OpenSSH.

If you have further questions on using ssh, take a look at the man pages

If you have write access and want to update your key, you can use the following command:
    ssh sourceware.org updatekey < ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
Any site-related questions should be sent to the above mentioned admin-requests email account.
