When I try to compile binutils for the AVR32 platform, the following error message is displayed: BFD does not support target avr32-unknown-linux-uclibc. I am using the Gentoo crossdev tool and filed a bug, but was instructed to report it to upstream. The original bug report: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236963 Current patches: http://avr32linux.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/BinutilsPatches
The AVR32 port has not yet been added upstream as we (Atmel) don't yet have our FSF Copyright assignment. However, it is in process, but I don't yet know when it will be in place. We cannot submit the patches upstream until the copyright assignment is in place. We are definitely aware of this issue, but I'm closing this bug as WONTFIX, as it is not really a bug. Any updates?
No updates.
binutils still doesn't seem to build with an avr32 target. What's going on? Is Atmel serious?
Seems to be some current work happening here: http://distribute.atmel.no/tools/opensource/avr32-gcc/ Does this build now? What's the status ? Thanks.
