Description Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy 2004-10-14 14:52:00 UTC
Please update vi_VN locale. The old locale is not complete, especially on the
collating part. The new vi_VN is Mandrake's.

Comment 2 Samuel Thibault 2004-12-27 09:55:40 UTC
I'd have some cosmetic changes, to have the accents' order in the file

Doesn't seem so. The patch seems fine to everybody, but nobody applied
it in mainstream...

Comment 7 Ulrich Drepper 2005-07-08 16:21:13 UTC
The trunk has an updated locale definitions.
Comment 8 Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy 2005-07-09 05:37:35 UTC
I have checked CVS. vi_VN (rev 1.7) differs from the attached vi_VN:
- r1.7 is older (2001-01-29 while this vi_VN is 2004-01-09)
- r1.7 missed some collation rules.
- one collation rule is wrong (<U1EB3> <a(>;<HOK>;<CAP>;IGNORE instead of
<U1EB2> <a(>;<HOK>;<CAP>;IGNORE)
- yesstr/yesexpr (vâng) is kind of over-honorific. the new yesstr (có) is better
- r1.7 doens't have LC_NAME, LC_ADDRESS, LC_TELEPHONE
Therefore i would like to request applying new vi_VN over r1.7
Comment 9 Ulrich Drepper 2005-09-23 20:35:09 UTC
What 1.7 version? I'm not going to go around hunting for the file you refer to.
Comment 10 Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy 2005-09-24 02:57:25 UTC
I'm happy you're looking at this bug again :D
1.7 is the revision that you updated in comment #7. Here's the link
But then jakub has updated vi_VN in fedora-branch. I'm not using Fedora. However
I will look at fedora-branch version and take notes of differences between vi_VN
in this bug and fedora-branch's vi_VN.
Comment 11 Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy 2005-09-24 03:14:54 UTC
Notes between this bug's vi_VN and fedora-branch's vi_VN:
revision: fedora-branch one's 0.7, this vi_VN's 1.1
fedora-branch one misses several collating rules: ạ, Ạ, ẽ, ẹ, Ẽ, Ẹ, ị, Ị, ọ, Ọ,
ụ, Ụ, ỳ, ỹ, ỵ, Ỳ, Ỹ, Ỵ.
fedora-branch has one mistake: line 115, that should be U1EB2 (Ẳ) instead of
this vi_VN's yesstr (Có) is preferable to fedora-branch's (Vâng) IMHO.
fedora-branch's misses LC_NAME and LC_TELEPHONE
Comment 12 Jakub Jelinek 2005-09-24 12:49:59 UTC
There is no difference between fedora-branch and HEAD vi_VN.

So, if there is something incorrect in either of these versions ( or 1.7),
please attach here a patch against those.
