pg_filedump is a utility to format PostgreSQL heap, index, and control files into a human-readable form. You can format/dump the files several ways as well as dumping straight binary. This utility is intended to aid in the understanding of the internal contents of a PostgreSQL block.
Version 8.4.0: Requires a PostgreSQL 8.4 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 8.4 installations.
Version 8.3: Requires a PostgreSQL 8.3 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 8.3 installations.
Version 8.2: Requires a PostgreSQL 8.2 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 8.2 installations.
Version 8.1: Requires a PostgreSQL 8.1 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 8.1 installations.
Version 4.0: Requires a PostgreSQL 8.0 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 8.0 installations.
Version 3.0: Requires a PostgreSQL 7.4 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL 7.4 installations.
Version 2.0: Requires a PostgreSQL 7.3 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with PostgreSQL - Red Hat Edition 3.0 / RHDB 2.x / 1.x and PostgreSQL 7.3 / 7.2 / 7.1 installations.
Version 1.0: Requires a PostgreSQL 7.2 / 7.1 source/build tree. This version of pg_filedump can be used with RHDB 2.x / 1.x and PostgreSQL 7.2 / 7.1 installations.
