The sources for the Linux kernel running on the iPAQ can be obtained from the Familiar distribution of the Handhelds project. Follow the directions to download and build the Familiar 0.4 release.

Creating the JFFS2 filesystem image

The JFFS image can be built using this script, which is a slightly modified version of the standard one from the Familiar project.
