Although since v3 of the adobe plugin you can actually use a less
intrusive workaround, as that is usable as a "microsoft behavior" so you
only need add some non standard PI at the top of the file rather than
scripting an <embed element.

which is mainly XHTML + inlined MathML but ends with a bit of inlined
SVG, just by way of a change.
