Larry,

Instead of having a seperate template for the data do the work in the
following block(unless you have reason not to?)

		<xsl:for-each select="book/chapter">
	.....call to template
	</xsl:for-each>


Tag, then you can do something like the following..

		<xsl:for-each select="book/chapter">
		<xsl:choose>
			<xsl:which test test="position()=last()">
				.
				.
				what ever when its the last node..
			</xsl:which>
						<xsl:otherwise>
							.
							do what ever with
every node but the last one..
							.
						</xsl:otherwise>
				</xsl:choose>
	</xsl:for-each>

Did'nt bother wasting bandwidth quoting your mail, hope you dont mind.
