It shouldn't happen. You didn't show the full output, but if your system
produced utf-8 encoded HTML then it should have put a <meta element in
the file head saying that it was in UTF8 and then the browser was
supposed to switch automatically. Alternatively (and more portably) you
can generate the HTML in latin 1 by ading a suitable xsl:output
statement to your stylesheet.
