If you need to do that then 99 times out of 100 it is because you are
doing something wrong.
In particular you should not do
> <xsl:value-of select="'<br/>'" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
you should do <br/>
which is simpler and will work on any XSL engine
(disable-output-escaping is not guaranteed to work anywhere)
