Trevor,
Thanks for your reply.

This is the original source :
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<topic>
<a>ItemA</a>
<b>ItemB</b>
<f>text1</f>
<g>text2</g>
<h>text3</h>
<i>text4</i>
<a>ItemA</a>
<b>ItemB</b>
<f>text5</f>
<g>text6</g>
<h>text7</h>
<i>text8</i>
<a>ItemA</a>
<b>ItemB</b>
<f>text9</f>
<g>text10</g>
<h>text11</h>
<i>text12</i>
</topic>
I should say that each child element has one tab.
Does it make sense for you ?
The blank line does not mean anything, it's just to give a better
readability.

The transformation that I want is to concatenate <f> and <g>.
<g> always immediately follow <f>. The document contain all child element
<a>, <b>, <f> ,<g>, <h>, and <i>, so <g> is always there. It may that <g>
is an empty node.

Not sure of that.
If you have a flat file like this :
a b f g h i <-- column header
ItemA ItemB text1 text2 text3 text4
ItemA ItemB text5 text6 text7 text8
ItemA ItemB text9 text10 text11 text12
I guess the structure of the above XML is correct, unless you other opinion.
Thanks,
Benoit Aumars.
