Right now neither one, I would say. They are both equally outdated :-/.

The way it used to work was that Stan first made the texi version and then
used the texi2html Perl script in the doc folder to make the HTML version.
If you have Perl you can therefore in theory make your own HTML manual from
the texi sources. Be warned, though, that this is a rather laborious
process.

I will try to update the docs, but only after 7.5 is out. I don't want to
delay the release further because of this. When I do, I doubt very much
that I will spend any time on the texi stuff. I will probably go directly
for HTML instead. So that is likely to be the maintained format in the
future.

Excellent. Maybe we can include it with the 7.5 distribution.
