You are incorrect. You're posting to the libc-ports mailing list, which is the hint you need: you need the "ports" addon to glibc 2.5. Or use CVS and check out both the "libc" and "ports" modules.
I found a patch in the mailing-list at crosstool that make use of glibc-ports.
