Bug #: 15357
Summary: locale de_AT: abbreviated weekdays are incorrect
Product: glibc
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: localedata
AssignedTo: unassigned@sourceware.org
ReportedBy: bernhard.hartleb@gmail.com
CC: libc-locales@sourceware.org
Classification: Unclassified
In the Austrian locale (de_AT) weekdays are abbreviated with three-letters.
This is not correct and never used in practice. The correct form are the two
letter abbreviations as in de_DE.
My guess is that people usually just choose the German locale and therefore
never come across this problem.
The same reasoning could be true for de_BE, de_CH and de_LU.
Although I can not confirm this for those countries.
To fix this, de_AT can use the same abday codes as de_DE.
