Anyone know what these should contain? Should the 'Yy' and 'Nn'
always be part of the regex, like Pablo Saratxaga suggests in the
bug report?

After considering this for some time now, I believe Pablo is right,
and that locales should have this if possible.

At the moment, this affects locales af_ZA, ar_AE, ar_BH, ar_DZ, ar_EG,
ar_IN, ar_IQ, ar_JO, ar_KW, ar_LB, ar_LY, ar_MA, ar_OM, ar_QA, ar_SA,
ar_SD, ar_SY, ar_TN, ar_YE, az_AZ, bn_IN, kw_GB, ml_IN, oc_FR, ta_IN,
te_IN and tr_TR. We need to get in touch with the locale
authors/maintainers/contributors, and get them to check if it is
possible for these locales to include y and n in the yes and no regex.

This is registered as bug
<URL:http://sources.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=305>. The
arabic locales are bug #71.

I also agree that Yy and Nn should be added if possible. For some
locales, in countries with more than one official language, I think it
would be advisable to have all positive and negative responses for these
official languages in each of the language locales.

One problem occurs - same key may be used for different answers in different keyboard layouts. :-(
In Ukrainian locale the key <Y> is used to answer Yes in English keyboard layout and to answer No in Ukrainian keyboard layout and <N> is used to answer No in English keyboard layout and to answer Yes in Ukrainian keyboard layout.

Unfortunately, the state of the keyboard layout is not indicated in console so mismatches are very frequent. :-(

What method is beter to solve this problem, you think?

1. Remove Ukrainian translation.
2. Assign two numbers: <1> for Yes and <0> for No.
3. ... ?

I actually also advise using 1 for yes, and 0 for no, in all locales.

For the conflicts in Ukrainian, I would ecpect Y and N in Ukrainian to
be in the Cyrillic script? Then there is no conflict, as latin Y and
Cyrillic Y are different letters, likewise for latin N and Cyrillic N

Latin character Y (Yes) and Ukrainian character Cyrillic_N (Ni - No) placed on same key at keyboard.
Lanin character N (No) and Ukrainian character Cyrillic_T (Tak - Yes) placed on same key at keyboard.

The third variant is to use "y" and "tak" (three letters) and "n" and "ni" (two letters) to avoid mistakes.
