Yes, this patch is what we're going to go with.
I'll work to get this checked in.
I thought about documentation for this change but I see that we don't
document any of the sunrpc functions, and they are going away anyhow
as part of the hopeful TIRPC migration. Therefore I see no need for
additional documentation. I do think it worthwhile that we contact the
linux manpages project and tell them of the change in behaviour (even
if not portable).
