I see Khem Raj had the same suggestion, but I think suggesting this is
backwards in a couple of ways. First, it's not mentioned in the Testsuite
wiki page (and for what it's worth, I didn't know about it). We could
obviously fix this, but I suspect that if many developers are explicitly
overriding the conformtest, we should make skipping it be the default
instead. My experience personally is the same as HJ's, which is that I
have never gotten any value from running the conformtest, and it takes a
ridiculous length of time. Perhaps it should be in a separate
"conformtest" target, or require a configure --enable-conformtest before
being part of make xcheck?
