Re: Getting collation info

I sent this to Ulrich Drepper a few days ago. As I have not heard back
from him, I'll open the questions to the list:

What do the functions in coll-lookup.c do?

Why aren't locales compiled into shared libraries? Or are they?

I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out the basics of how glibc handles
locales. Is there documentation I can read? Or is there a source file
that would be good to start at?

I can't seem to find the compiled locale information on the system I
use. The only thing that looks like it could be the thing is
/usr/lib/locale/locale-archive, but I was expecting separate files for
separate locale categories. Any hints? If locale-archive is the whole
thing, where can I find information on its format?

Thanks,
David Feuer
