glibc 2.2.3 problems when compiling on RH 7.1

I ran into 2 problems compiling glibc with the newly released RedHat 7.1.

First, during the actual 'make install', the program ended with something
similar to: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: Cannot find symbol GLIBC_2.2.3, and the system
was totally unusable past that point. I found it was quicker to reinstall RH
than to do repair the old libc.

Well, it turns out that RH uses a beta version of 2.2.3 but labels it as 2.2.2
everywhere. So, I downloaded 2.2.3pre3 and installed it. Installed fine, went
to reboot, and now I can't log in as 'root' because of this problem:

login: root
login[195]: PAM [dlerror: /lib/libnsl.so.1: symbol __rpc_thread_svc_pollfd,
version GLIBC_2.2.3 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference]
login[195]: FAILED LOGIN 1 FROM (null) FOR root, Authentication failure
Login incorrect

Is there any quick way around this, or am I forced to recompile PAM and other
libraries? I just can't shake this feeling that RedHat screwed their distro up
by using another beta software package...

Thanks,
 Byron
