Hi.
Building glibc 2.1.95, from tarballs, following Bruno Haible's excellent
glibc 2.2 snapshot installation instructions.
The only add-on I'm using is linuxthreads.
System:
Linux 2.2.17, glibc 2.1.CVS-current, GCC 2.95.2, binutils
2.10.0.26, GNU make 3.79.1, perl 5.005_03, rest of tools fairly
current.
Intel Pentium 166, 96MB RAM, fast SCSI disks.
Configure OK. (--prefix=/glibc22 --enable-add-ons)
Build OK, with the same warnings as reported by Art Haas in
<Pine.SOL.4.02A.10010091042020.19483-100000@uhura.wg.waii.com>
Time, as reported by tcsh:
9071.220u 1193.180s 3:18:10.36 86.3% 0+0k 0+0io 7049519pf+0w
(Not much else running on the system during the build.)
FYI: du -ks <build directory>: 272644
"make check" running now. I'll report on that when it finishes.
Matt.
