I've uploaded to
ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/glibc/snapshots
and
ftp://ftp.xx.kernel.org/pub/software/libs/glibc
the first test release of glibc 2.1.3 (xx is your country code).
There you find
glibc-2.1.3pre1.tar.bz2 (or .gz)
and
glibc-linuxthreads-2.1.3pre1.tar.gz
No new crypt add-on is needed.
This release is probably only usable on Linux (not Hurd). But on
Linux it should provide several improvements in stability. Give it a
try and please also report positive results to this list.
