Hi everyone,
I am Alyona Morozov, pursuing a BSc in Computer Science from the
University of York, England. I am a 2016 GSoC aspirant and would like to do
a project on Kawa, developing the Treelist Optimization and Adding parameterized and function types.
"Treelist Optimization" is a vague goal, and it's not something I want to
focus on right now.
Adding parameterized and function types is feasible. It does require a good understanding
of the Java type system (including digging into the Java Language Specification).
You could also need to design and generate the necessary changes to the generated
.class file - there is some support, but it is incomplete.
Also check out http://openjdk.java.net/jeps/8043488
I will like to know if there are any prerequisites to contribute to it?
To be accepted you need to have a good detailed plan, and convince us
you're up to the task. Contributing patches, demos, and wll-though-out
questions can help do that.
