kawa redhat packages?

Red Hat Linux is becoming the "Red Hat Linux project" - see rhl.redhat.com.

"One of the goals of The Red Hat Linux project is to encourage a pool of high-quality add-on packages; if we're successful, there will be so many we won't be able to support all of them."

Would a volunteer be interested in making a Kawa package? Note this needs to be built using Free Software, so it should be built using GCJ. That leads to the question of support for JEmacs etc and other parts of Kawa that depend on non-Free Java code. Perhaps they should be in a separate kawa-ext package?

We may want to see how the "rhug" project (http://sources.redhat.com/rhug/) does things. Perhaps they should spearhead the effort of adding Java packages to Red Hat Linux. (Rhug is/was a project mostly by Anthony Green, who still works for Red Hat.)
