The good news is that Apple has finally fixed the bugs in their 1.3.1
JDK/JRE preventing use of Kawa's GUI REPL. A minor caveat, just after
launching one must click in the window contents before typing.
The bad news is buffer issues preventing load, peek-char, read-char et al
from working on all but the smallest files still exists. Maybe Apple's next
$130 upgrade will fix it.
