I think it would be good to have Ant support. It would prefer if we
could offer both: either Ant or GNU-style configure. At least until I
get really comfortable with Ant. The downside of course is making
sure both scripts are maintained and tested. I'm certainly open to
being convinced - but for 1.7 I would prefer to support configure.
