Re: X error Running insight on Fedora Core 6

I don't know what to say here. I can't run insight if I ssh to my linux machine using cygwin, I can run eclipse though. However, if I use exceed and do rlogin to connect to the system, I can run insight.

I just found out that I can run insight from the console, but I will have X error messages if I run insight remotely (I use xterm to connect from my windows machine to the linux machine which has insight). Please advice?

I do much of my daily work on gcj using a remote machine which I ssh into. I use insight extensively on it, and I have never seen this problem. Can you open/use other X applications? How about other Tk applications (does wish8.4 work)? Eclipse, on the other hand, ALWAYS dies with an X failure the first time I try to start it. After that, though, it works as well as Eclipse is going to. :-)

I wish I had more to offer than "It works for me," but alas, I don't. I've never seen or heard of this before.

Sorry,
Keith
