As the humble impetus for this change, I wholeheartedly agree <gr>. Please
realize that there are many people (myself included)for whom the world of
Linux, open software, community efforts, etc is a relatively new experience.
I originally downloaded gdb by mistake (attempting to get insight); what
tripped me up was using the link "GDB 5.0 and Insight 5.0 are released."
If you go to that page, you'll only get gdb, not insight. Since they both
end up named gdb, first time users might assume the two have been folded in
together. Going to the snapshot page, I wasn't really clear on which of the
50 or so files listed there I should retrieve. (I still don't know what
dejagnu is.) So I just picked the latest weekly.
I would suggest you separate the link above so that "GDB 5.0" goes to GDB
and "Insight 5.0" goes to insight. Then add a clearly marked link to
"retrieve the latest weekly release". Finally, make the latest weekly the
"release" version - the current release version wouldn't run properly on my
Redhat 6.1 system, but the latest weekly would.
Now that I've got it working, I like Insight. Thanks for your efforts.

Hi,
I'd like to discuss updating the web page a little. I'm not talking
complete rewrite (yet ;-).
Here's what I'd like to see accomplished by these updates:
. People getting the latest snapshot. The snapshots will probably have more
bug fixes than the "release" version. Until we can get a release+patches
branch (or someone proposes something better), this will have to do.
. Have people automatically send output of "gdb -v" (or their target
triple) and any other info (OS version, Cygwin version) to list with
bug questions/problems..
. Have users check the check the FAQ and bug database BEFORE
submitting bugs or asking (many) questions.
. No HTML (-only?) messages. Maybe provide a little form that people
can fill out?
Yes, I do realize that much of this is never going to happen (at least
not 100% of the time), but I can dream, can't I? ;-)
Comments welcome. Suggestions for other improvements welcome.
