This works on linux (not much help, unfortunately) with "gcc version 4.1.0 20051026 (experimental)" and "GNU gdb 6.3.50.20051107-cvs" (latest insight snapshot).
Is command-line gdb able to display the source? ("list main" or some such)
Give me a couple of days and I'll try to steal a cygwin box to test this.
