red hat linux 7.3 on i686, insight configured for arm-elf platform

While downloading an arm-elf executable to an arm platform via serial port, download status window pops up, showing the progress - there are different bars: .init .text etc.
as each bar fills in with blue color, the filling-in goes forever at the right hand side, even extending the status window forever to right hand side.

it simply happens whenever I download a binary

I suppose there's a simple bug in tcl/tk coding that prevents the progress bar to stop filling forever.
