Or if some guile guru just took it upon him/herself to embed guile in
KIllustrator, perhaps they wouldn't mind so much.  Of course, finding
the guile guru willing to help the KDE team might be difficult if there
are such political differences separating the groups.

The state of affairs sure seems unfortunate.  It's pretty painful to see 
two groups developing the same set of free applications w/o any code
sharing.  Ugh.
