It's an issue for the maintainer, not for the user. Personally, I find it annoying when packages, typically packages maintained by Cygnus, assume that texinfo is installed. I mean, you aren't thinking of requiring that the user have Jade, are you? Sure, it would be neat to have an integrated DSSSL engine in Guile, but is that really feasible?
