I got the message about the trouble with mguile.  I am out fo the
country until Wednesday, so I can't help much (and I am having tourble
with my internet connection too!).

For now, mguile is statically linked because I have trouble with
dynamic linking (I posted a couple big messages about this but never
got a reply).  Try loading it aand doing  "(use-modules (matrix))" to
see if this gets you basci matrix function.  E.g. try (m-get 2 2)
after this to see if you can create a simple matrix.

I'll try to give better help when I get back.
