[Bug nscd/23289] New: Why is the NSCD host cache corrupted occasionally?

https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23289

            Bug ID: 23289
Summary: Why is the NSCD host cache corrupted occasionally?
           Product: glibc
           Version: 2.17
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: nscd
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: haolee.swjtu at gmail dot com
CC: drepper.fsp at gmail dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

I encountered a problem when using NSCD+NSLCD+openLDAP to provide host name
resolution. I occasionally found that the ping command returned "unknown host"
error, but it got back to normal after I cleared the host cache using "nscd -i
hosts".

After searching on Google, I found many people had encountered problems like
this and the solution was also clear the NSCD cache.

I wonder if this is a bug. Under which condition would I encounter this
problem? How do I avoid this problem again? Thanks.
